PARTNERS
No matter how hard we try, the reality is that every purchase we make will have some effect on our planet and its life.
Our view is that we try and address this by partnering with a very select group of organizations that we feel are best placed at eliminating or reducing the harm – working on the root causes of problems, not just tinkering with the symptoms.
WE PLAN TO HAVE
One major partner for each of the four issues of Human, Animal, Environmental, and Corruption;
Smaller, specialist partners who may not command the same level of publicity or membership as the big organizations but play a vital role in improving and protecting our planet and its life.
Together we’ll work to build a more moral and healthier society, freeing us from consumption and greed so we can all live well in a fair world.
WHALE AND DOLPHIN CONSERVATION
Conservation of Whales, Dolphins, and Marine Habitats
WDC, Whale and Dolphin Conservation (formerly WDCS) is the leading global charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins. Through campaigns, lobbying, advising governments, conservation projects, field research and rescue they defend these remarkable creatures against the many threats they face.
Their vision is a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free.
WDC cares passionately about whales and dolphins and want others to care about them too. So they campaign globally, speaking with emotion and wonder, and always with authority. They make sure their voice is heard by decision makers.
WDC’s core belief is that all whales and dolphins have the right to exist as nature intends, not as humans decide. To be able to live free from hunting, captivity, entanglement in fishing gear and nets, and to swim in clean, noise-free waters where boats won't injure them.

ETHICAL CONSUMER
Campaigning For Corporate Transparency and Accountability
For 25 years Ethical Consumer has been the hub of the ethical consumer movement. Their mission is to make global business more sustainable through consumer pressure. They are an independent, not-for-profit, multi-stakeholder co-operative with open membership, founded in 1989 and based in Manchester.
There are five key elements to their mission:
1. Helping people challenge corporate power
Helping people exercise their ‘economic vote’ by tracking corporate behaviour to provide current information on which to act.
2. Democratising the market
Helping people assert their own ethical values through the market, based on their own beliefs and priorities.
3. Transparency of research
The information used comes from previously published sources and each element is fully explained and sourced in the company pages and research reports available on their website.
They welcome criticism and feedback on each element as well as the broader aspects of their rankings.
4. Letting the companies know
As well as buying ethically they encourage people to let the companies know how they feel as the most effective way to drive behaviour change.Subscribers to their website have a simple facility to email a company with their comments - both positive and negative.
Researchers also contact all companies before beginning each ranking project, asking them detailed questions about their policy and practice on ethical issues.
5. Wider political action
Ethical consumerism is not a replacement for other forms of political action. It is an important addition to campaigns for changes in regulation which need our support too. They also have their own list of broader regulatory changes they believe are necessary for a sustainable and compassionate future.

BONOBOS UK
Raising Awareness and Rescuing Bonobos in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Bonobos UK are a UK-based charity with two aims:
- increase awareness and education about bonobos in the UK
- raise funds to support Les Amis des Bonobos for the Lola Ya Bonobo Sanctuary, in the DRC, where currently 64 orphan bonobos need your support.
The Bonobos are the closest living relative to humans but they are classed as endangered, their population is decreasing. They are found only within the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa and the sad reality is that our thirst for technology fuels the political instability that is driving this remarkable species toward extinction.
Working with Bonobos UK Spaice hopes to protect the Bonobos and also raise awareness of the problems and solutions facing the humans, fauna, and flora of the DRC.
